It is with profound sorrow, and deep gratitude for a life well lived that we announce the promotion to glory of our beloved Livingstone Wycliffe Otieno Omondi, formerly of Kanyamedha Village, Kanyabala Sub-Location, Central Kasipul Location, Kasipul Sub-County, Homa Bay County, who passed away on 9th February 2026 peacefully after a short illness.
Livingstone was a loving and devoted husband to Rosemary Achieng Omondi, a caring father, mentor, and pillar of strength to his children: Brian Otieno Omondi, Sharon Akinyi Omondi, and the late Victor Omondi. He was a cherished grandfather to Elijah Otieno, Faith Achieng, and Nathan Omondi, whom he adored deeply.
He was the beloved son of the late Paulo Omondi Ouma and the late Agnes Nyandia Omondi, and a treasured step-son to Mama Ruth Ouma.
Livingstone was a dear brother to Margaret Atieno, Peter Ouma, Eunice Adhiambo, Daniel Otieno, Millicent Aoko, and George Omondi. He was a fond brother-in-law to Stephen Onyango, Beatrice Achieng, Collins Odhiambo, Janet Auma, and Josephine Akoth.
He was a loving uncle to Kevin, Allan, Sylvia, Mercy, Brenda, Denis, Sharon, Collins, Ian, Ryan, and Sheila, and a cousin, nephew, colleague, church elder, and friend to many whose lives he touched through his kindness, wisdom, and unwavering faith.
Livingstone was a committed member of St. Markβs Shepherd Church β Kanyabala, where he served faithfully in the Menβs Fellowship and Church Development Committee. He was also a respected community elder and advisor, always ready to offer counsel, reconciliation, and encouragement.
The family wishes to sincerely thank friends, neighbours, church members, colleagues, and relatives for the overwhelming prayers, visits, messages of comfort, and support during this difficult time.
Funeral Arrangements
The body is lying at Homa Bay Friends Mortuary.
The cortege will leave the mortuary on Thursday, 12th March 2026, at 9:00 a.m. for St. Markβs Shephered Church, Kanyabala, where a memorial and prayer service will be held.
Thereafter, the cortege will proceed to the family home in Kanyamedha Village for an overnight vigil.
The burial and thanksgiving service will take place on Friday, 13th March 2026, at the family homestead in Kanyamedha Village, Kasipul Sub-County, Homa Bay County.
