The cortege will leave St. Carey Funeral Home on Friday, 28th August 2026, at 9:00 a.m. for a funeral service at JTC Church Nanyuki.

Thereafter, the cortege will proceed to the family home in Nanyuki, where the burial and final farewell service will take place.

It is with profound sorrow and humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing of our beloved Mariatta Nyokabi Chinga, of Nanyuki, Laikipia County.

Nyokabi was a loving and devoted wife to Mr. Fidesio ChingaΒ  and a caring mother to James Ndiritu (Nanyuki), Gracey Wanjiku (Nairobi), Joe Mwangi (Nyeri), and Anne Wambui (Sweden She was a cherished grandmother to Brian, Michelle, Ethan, Joy, and Abigail, whom she loved dearly.

She was the beloved daughter of the late Mzee Daniel Kinyua and the late Mama Elizabeth Wanjiku of Rumuruti, Laikipia County. Mary was a dear sister to Margaret Wambui, the late John Kinyua, Samuel Mwangi, Jane Nyambura, and Josephine Wairimu.

She was a loving sister-in-law to David Njoroge, Beatrice Muthoni, Alice Wangari, and Charles Maina, and a treasured aunt, cousin and friend to many.

Mariatta was a woman of quiet strength and remarkable generosity. She was deeply devoted to her family and was particularly known for opening her home to relatives, neighbours and visitors. She was a committed member of JTC Church Nanyuki. Her faith and compassion remained an important part of her life.

The family expresses its sincere appreciation to relatives, friends, neighbours and church members for their prayers, visits and support during this difficult period.
